Turkish Delight (Lokum) is a traditional Turkish confection prepared according to the special technique by adding water, sugar,
starch, optional seasonings, dried nuts or fruits and so on.
With the introduction of rened sugar, which was known as the “loaf sugar” in the 17th century, and especially starch to the country
the preparation and avor of Turkish Delight which had been made using the mixture of our and honey or molasses like syrup, has
changed.
Turkish Delight should have a typical appearance and preserve its form, its texture should be elastic and should take its previous form
after being pushed by nger, and leave a soft and smooth feeling in mouth.This new avor has come to this day and become an
irreplaceable treat of feasts and other special occasions.
Turkish Delight is now an international snack especially served with Turkish coffee.
